How can I help myself to not break down and continue being the 'rock' for my friends and family?

My friends and family consistently have problems added on to already traumatic lives and I feel incredibly selfish when I feel myself falling apart of simple things. I really want to help everyone I care about, but I'm in the midst of going through puberty, and I'm already dealing with my own problems on top of having to help everyone else I know with their problems. I don't want to complain about my life, because I know its pretty good compared to some people I know, but it hasn't been a cake-walk either. I really hate feeling like I'm not in control of my emotions. I previously was incredibly good at keeping them locked up so I could be the 'rock' for everyone who needed my help. I built up a reputation for being a very stable and calm individual who could handle anything that was thrown at me. I was known for helping people out and knowing just the right thing to say, but after a chain of events that I don't wish to discuss[Synopsis: One of my friends died because of this chain of events and everyone has been very depressed], I've been left completely drained. I no longer have any idea what to say to any of my friends when they come to me for advice and I feel like I'm letting them down. Since I've been feeling hollow, everyone else's world has seemed to begin crashing down, and everyone else seems more stressed. Even under conditions like these, where a friend's death is involved, I'm known to remain calm and be the 'rock', but this time, I was just shattered. I really need advice on how to take all this stress in stride. Someone, can you please tell me how to beat back my emotions? I don't need anyone coming in here and telling me that I need to express my emotions freely. Everyone else I know is already doing that and they need someone who doesn't do that ever to be there for them. I can't let anyone know how entirely broken down I am, or they will loose faith in my bravado, and feel a constant need to look out for how I feel, which is exactly what I am trying to avoid. And please don't tell me how unhealthy it is to bottle up my emotions. I already know... That's why I sometimes feel physically ill when horrible things happen. But I have an outlet. It just really isn't enough. But again, I can't let on just how much I feel like an empty husk... Someone, please, just give me any sort of advice that you think will be able to help me not break down so I can continue to be a good support system for my friends.

Nervous About Applying For College. Please Help.?

So I desperately want to go to the east coast to study. I have a 4.6 GPA, I am in the top 10% out of 800 rising seniors at my school, I am actively involved in my community, I play a sport and an instrument, my family has a low income so I am being helped with financial aid, HOWEVER my ACT and SAT scores are not good. That is the only concern for me: that I would not be accepted to colleges because of my low test scores. I honestly am a horrible test taker in that i always get nervous no matter how prepared I am, and my nervousness gets the better of me. What do you think my chances are? I got a 22 on my ACT and 1590 on SAT and 540 on Math II Sub. and 560 on Bio Sub. I know I have a chance to retake ACT or SAT, but how do you think I stack up? Appreciate it.

My depression is crippling?

My mother died last Nov. Since then I've been getting very ill, depressed, and no one understands. Don't get along with family, there's a lot of dysfunction there, can't depend on them. Husband withdraws when I am in trouble, the worse the trouble, the more he withdraws, or wants to help with tough love. I have exhausted all help from the community, no one can do any more for me. Meds don't help. I have multiple chronic conditions that cause lots of pain, which have worsened since mom died. I feel all alone. No one to understand, no one that I can go to for help. What is wrong with my new(ish) central air unit?

4 or 5 years back I bought a new central heat & air unit. In my hallway, it sounded like a roaring tornado & the cool air could blow the house down. It was great! Then after a few years, it now sounds hollow &/or shallow & barely blows any air. It is still cold air, but doesn't keep my house cool due to not enough air pressure flowing up through the floor vents. Used to you could see the air blowing things like curtains all around. Now, you can barely feel any air when you put your hand or foot over the vent. I have it serviced yearly & change the filters regularly. The service man said it was a little dirty on the outside unit & was running about 10 degrees hotter than normal. He cleaned it & said it would be fine now. But, like always it's NOT. Since I bought this new, he services it yearly for free. I hired someone else to service it this time, hoping they could figure out the problem. But, didn't help any. Yes this is a good deck, but I think you should have a based deck instead of this deck. If you do not know what a based deck is then a good example would be a dragon based deck, they are good for attacking and special summoning other dragon cards for backup if another becomes destroyed. Another good example would be a morphtronic/machine based deck, they focus on protecting your life points and the other morphtronic/machine cards currently on the field. How do I remove a spoiler on my 02 Dodge Intrepid SE?

I'm wanting to remove the spoiler on my Dodge so I can paint it. The way I was looking at it, there were six holes that were drilled on the inside of the trunk (its a hollow trunk lid) obviously after the painting was done, and I know it was an aftermarket spoiler, so I'm thinking these are the places where the bolts are. I got 4 of them off just by using a socket, but the other two have these weird rectangular plastic clips on them. I don't know what to think about them. Those times are very good and you should be able to improve on them in your senior year. If your times remain the same id say D2 but really you should just find colleges that you are interested in and contact the coach for them they will tell you what kind of times they are looking for. Do cross country in the fall it will definitely help with your times in track even if the races are longer than you're used to. Stick with it train hard and I'm sure you will do great.

Okay so its been a few days after the game and instead of reading reviews on the game, theres nothing but hate filled articles aimed towards the fact that there were a lot more Mexican supporters than US ones. Military before college football?

I'm a football player at a 1A high school. We didn't do very good last year and I have one year left. I'm not big and would like to play a different postion but our coach won't let me. Your ACT score may be on the low end, but your grades are great. It seems like you only gotten A's or higher in high school, and have done well with extra curriculars. I don't know much about NYU, but I do know about applying to college as I am a student at a Public-Ivy Institution. I would recommend taking the ACT one more time (it doesn't hurt, and you only send your best score anyways), secure some great letters of recommendations from teachers that know you best, fill out your application thoughtfully, and most importantly write why you want to go to NYU in your essays (don't say it's because it's a great school), give real reasons why your interested, what you want to pursue with your degree from NYU, and what you want to do as a profession/goal in life.Give examples of how you persevered during your lows and talk about the high moments as well(don't be afraid to brag, do it in a nice way tho :) ) The Personal statement helps the admission boards to know you better if NYU doesn't offer an interview. I'm not sure what you mean by "budget" exactly, but there is nothing that will really slow down the other hardware in that. You might want to go for 8 GB RAM though, its a cheap upgrade that can be effective depending on what you use the computer for.

Do you think a college student who averaged 5 ppg in high school can play at a D1 college basketball level?

I'm asking this because I am a college sophomore at a Sun Belt school. I've transferred from a D2 school last year because my major wasn't offered. In high school, I was a lettermen for the boy's high school team for 3 years. I averaged 0.0 ppg, 0.0 rpg my sophomore. My junior year, I transferred to another school the first semester and came back to my old school and averaged 0.6 ppg and 0.0 rpg in just five games. Before my senior year, my high school team went to 3 basketball camps over the summer and therefore, my scoring got better. Then my senior, I averaged 5.1 ppg and 2.3 rebounds. I didn't get no awards or no honors but I did lead the team in free throw percentage because I only missed one free throw out of the whole year. I never got looked at by any college and I was really interested in playing for a college basketball team but that dream fail down the drain after I graduated from high school and went on to the D2 school and found out I couldn't play. Now, that I'm at a D1 school, I missed my 2nd year because I didn't make the walk-on tryouts in the fall. Every since then, I've been working on my shot, dribble, and speed. I've also talked to the men's head coach and asst. coach at the university. I've also finished the fall semester with a 3.2 GPA and this spring with a 2.5 GPA, which gives me a 2.88 cumulative GPA. They asked me for game films of me in high school and I did that for them but never heard from them about how they evaluated me. They gave me the opportunity to play with their basketball players over the summer but the coaches cannot be in attendance because of NCAA rules. Right now, I'm thinking going for that opportunity but I am not sure because I might not be accepted as a walk-on because of my averages in high school. Alot of people tell me that I should play on the basketball team because I have a pure shot and I can play really good. Sometimes, I'm not very positive and give up on basketball because sometimes I feel like it's not for me but I was blessed with these talents. I just turned 15 and am about to be a sophomore quarterback. I am around 5'10 and weigh 160. I go to a small school which is not very publicized. I can throw around 50 yards and am able to get very well velocity on the ball and am pretty accurate. So, do you think I will be able to get a scholarship to a junior college or d2 or d1? What's up with me and chewing?

So earlier today I was having lunch, i noticed that when i bite down really hard (i mean REALLY) the left side of my face; i think under my cheek bone on the hollow bit, i could feel pain there but i couldn't really figure out where exactly it was coming from. no im not lying. She really does hate me. There is something mentally wrong with her (professional people have said this) and anyone can see it. She left my dad after 18 years, and they are in there second year of getting divorced. When she did come down-stares she would stop us doing our school to get on facebook or check her email, or to clean for hours. because our house was never clean enough for her. she literally had us scrubbing walls and doors and floors and toilets. my bestfriend carly remembers me never being allowed to play because i would be cleaning. my mom got our whole family caught in an awful cult where they made me feel even more worthless than i already was. i was only seven at the time. i didnt understand why i didnt get gold teeth and get "drunk in the spirit" like the other people (it was all fake. little creeps) I thought there was just something wrong with me. my mom has always treated me like crap on the floor, and like im nothing better than a servant. she had our whole family pretending we were happy too. so everybody thought we were a perfect family though i cried myself to sleep every night and never felt good enough. always trying to prove that i was worthy of her love, always trying to find a way to be happy .but sense my parents decided to get divorced i was really able to see everything for how it is. I'm done pretending. I'm done trying to make her happy when that is something she will never be. She is hollow inside, and everything she has isnt good enough for. She is manipulative and i believe she is truly just a bad person, and she poisons everyone around her with leis of happiness and her being a healthy person when she is far from it. Fullback and linebacker tips?

OK so I am moving on to varsity football next year because I am going to be a junior I am 15 because I'm young for my grade. I am 6'1" and weight about 180. I don't know my Max in much but my Max bench is about 180 and I'm going to be lifting. In my recent years playing football in fullback we run a full which is the basic qb fb and RB straight back. I did alright in jv playing fb but it was just my first year play that position and I succeeded in throught my weight around going hard and getting a head full of steam. I run like a 5 flat 40 meter dash so I'm not her fast. My coach is telling. Me in varsity I have to be looking for my cutback lanes and other things. I want to try and go to a d2 college for football but I need some tips. Some games I would get 3 td's. A game and usually every extra point going for two so I was quite successful but that was just jv. And on lb I was also successful I had plenty sacks force fumbles and hits. But I was finding my self getting kind of siked out. What I mean is I would be back their and then once they would hand the ball off I would find myself flat footed or else I would overpersue and he would cut back. So I am also looked for tips to prevent that because lb is very complicated And I need help. What drills should I do to increase speed and tips on my position. Thanks!

Can I still play college tennis while experimenting with mma?

Averaging 22 points junior year means you definitely can get into a D2 school, if not a D1. If you need to get back to the fundamentals, a personal trainer/coach will give you everything you need. As long as you didn't fail all of your classes, you should have no problems with getting to a good school, and emailing coaches with videos of you playing along with your stats will pretty much guarantee you a place on a good team.

Collecting with a snaffle?

My horse is currently being ridden in a french link eggbutt snaffle. She is a strong horse, so it's difficult to ride in the snaffle, but I'm doing it anyways. Whenever I rode her in the shank, she would go on the bit and collect beautifully. It was true collection, she wasn't hollowing her back. Anyways, now that I have her in the snaffle, I can't get her to collect. Whenever I ask, she sticks her nose straight out and tries to evade the bit. She will throw her head as well. How can I get her to collect? Should I try a running martingale? What about a flash noseband? Different bit? I would keep riding her in the shank, but I ride her English too, so I switched to a bit that I can use for both.

Sadly alot of war veteran's end up like that, they have experiences that we couldnt even fathom happen to them. Battlefield 3 on the console, somewhat dissapointing?

I know that the Battlefield series was on the PC first before consoles and that PC`s can continuously update their software for better experiences, but when they showed the PS3 gameplay of the game on that late night show, I was kinda disappointed. The smoke didn`t look as realistic, like it was going through materials instead of growing. Plus the M16 didnt even have an ACOG on it. I think I even noticed some diferent level design in places. I know what DICE meant when they said that they can`t just upgrade a console because it came out five years ago, but why did they show the PC footage when people would expect all three platforms to look the same. Most people know that they`re largest community is on PC, and I can respect that, but I don`t think DICE realizes how many console gamers have seen the Fault Line gameplay that they released. I was hoping for the same amazing experience that DICE has been promising from the beginning, but now Im disappointed that I may not get the same quality game. Why did DICE wait until now to tell people that they just couldn`t make the same game for console? I know I`m not the only one upset about this, as many sites have been posted talking about the graphics quality. Does anyone believe that maybe DICE is working on this, even though they probably arent?

I have a slim psp with 5.50 gen-d2 and I used this program called KeyCleaner for the psp slim for some odd reason and I checked my internet and scan for wifi then, the psp internal error 80410aob pops up and my games freeze up and shuts down on me as well. do I reinstall my 5.50 gen-d2 to fix this problem or, what because I am so frustrated now and searching on google to solve it makes me even more frustrated! please help me!

MS Excel: HEX2DEC() does not work with cell references?

How can you convert a column of hex numbers to a new column of decimal numbers? If I have a hex number, say "1F24A0" in cell C2, and in cell D2 I put the formula "=HEX2DEC(C2)" it does not work (just results in "#NUM!"). It does work with a hex literal, like "=HEX2DEC("1F24A0") but I need it with a cell reference. I am using Microsoft Excel 2007 on WinXP.

Should I get the a Xymox ID Pad or should I get the Ram Pad?

I already have the invader V3 and i love it!!!!! But, I looking for another drum pad to fall in love with because despite all the pros of a invader V3, I most of the time cant tell the difference between me hitting the rim and doing a rim-shot on the pad. And the Ram Pad has a nice metal rim but it will destroy my sticks because it is metal. But on the other hand the xymox ID Pad doesn't have a rim at all and it has a snare sound which none of my pads currently have right now and it is removable so i can have a good pad that has a snare and a hollow articulate sound or a pad that has a rim and feels like a drum and uses an actual drum head that is closer to the drum feel that i feel you can possibly get. I have a few questions about going to college.. However, I have been wondering if I should take 2 years of Houston Community College before I go on to a University because it would save me a lot of money. If I do so, is it possible for me to transfer to LSU from HCC? Also, If that is possible then would I still have 4 years at a LSU? (Obvously i'm hoping not, i'm trying to get years out of the way). Your story really moved me. Im sorry your feeling like this. When you dont "pretend" everything is perfect, its reminding your mom, that everything is a mess. Thats why shes taking it out on you, because she wants everybody around her to pretend that everything is okay. She knows deep down inside, that she has failed as a mom. (Well im sure she hasnt failed, but in some aspects she did) But the one thing im sure she did right, was raise a good daughter:) You seem like your a very caring and smart person. When your 18 you could decide where you want to live. I think its best you live with your dad. Your mom seems like shes depressed, ya know i kind of feel bad for her. Even with bad people, their behavior isnt acceptable, but its understandable. You cant spend your whole entire life trying to fix your mom's life. But you can improve your OWN life. She needs to fix her life, she cant be living this way any more. She sounds like shes being selfish but when your depressed- you can be very selfish. When you are allowed- you should move out. I am going to be a senior this fall and while I've been looking into colleges for a while, I guess I never considered playing sports. Could I get into an ivy league?

I am going to be a sophomore this coming year at a private school in the suburbs. This past year, as a freshman, I took the the three honors courses that are offered for freshmen (physics, geometry, and spanish) as well as history and english. My final grades were a B+ in history, B in geometry and physics, and A- in spanish and english. I participated in two theatre productions at school (during the winter and spring) and contributed to three clubs. Next year I will be in all honors, except for history. If I move up to AP history in the middle of next year or do all honors my junior year, what will my chances of getting into an ivy league or the equivalent, or even Oxford or Cambridge be like? I haven't taken the SATs or PSATs or anything like that yet but I will next year. Please keep in mind that I will have 60 hours or more of community service by the end of my senior year and most probably three activity credits for each of my sophomore, junior, and senior years. I also plan to raise my grades next year, as I am not particularly happy with them at the present. Oh and I think my grades make my GPA about 3.7. Thanks for helping!!!

From my experience, one of my friends got an out of state scholarship for track in 400 and 800(50.0 and 1:55). Another one of my friends got a scholarship for high jump(6'2). Relay splits aren't looked at. Hope it helps.

Intense summer programs for tennis players over 18?

I'm looking for an intense tennis summer program for players that are over 18 or that include players up to 22 or something. I know the bolleteri summer program does but paying over 4,000 for an experience that I've read isn't worth it for a player of my caliber doesn't sound like a good idea. I don't play college tennis (I go to a D1 school) but had opportunities to play at least D3 or D2 and chose not to so I'm not terrible. What to do when Fable 2 is stuck on a loading screen?

It's not just any loading screen. It's the Nightmare Hollow loading screen in particular. I'm trying to do the quest that requires me to sleep in the bed in Brightwood Tower, but no matter what I do, I cannot enter Nightmare Hollow. The games goes to the loading screen and stays there. I even started another game a a new file hoping it was a one-time glitch, but no luck. Keep in mind, this doesn't happen anywhere else in the game. Just Nightmare Hollow.
